DU Active Duty Grants & Scholarship
Veterans with a DD Form 214 who have honorably served, as well as their spouses and dependents, are eligible to receive scholarships. Davenport defines active duty as a person serving our country at least one day per month.
Military Tuition Grant
- 10% tuition discount from DU
Citizen Soldier Grant
- Reduces tuition to $0 after Federal Tuition Assistance
Military Scholarship
(new DU students only)
- Undergraduate: $3,000/year full-time or $1,500/year part-time
- Graduate: $1,500/year full-time or $750 part-time
Awarding Criteria
- Active Military (including spouse and dependent children) - Submit proof of active duty, and if the scholarship is for a spouse and/or dependent children, also submit proof of relationship.
- Veterans (including spouse) - Submit proof of service, and if the scholarship is for a spouse, also submit proof of relationship. For purposes of financial aid, a veteran is someone who was released under conditions other than dishonorable.
Renewal Criteria
- Undergraduates: Renewable up to 4 years or bachelor's degree (whichever is shorter)
- Graduates: Renewable up to 4 years or master’s degree (whichever is shorter)
- Minimum CGPA of 3.0 for both undergraduate and graduate students. The CGPA is checked at the end of winter semester.
*The award amounts are prorated based upon enrollment. Students must be enrolled at least half-time within a given semester to receive the scholarship. Scholarships will cover up to tuition, fees and books after all Federal and state aid (excluding student loans) has been applied. All other Davenport scholarship guidelines apply. Federal Financial Aid

- Pell Grants up to $4,050 (undergraduate only)
- Stafford Loans of $7,500 to $10,500 per year; more than $20,000 for graduate students (Information)
